A bold new home for Porter Novelli

19/12/2008

Global PR consultancy, Porter Novelli announced the launch of their new website today at www.porternovelli.com. The new site replaces its two-year-old predecessor with a completely new design aimed at attracting and servicing Porter Novelli’s leading PR clients around the world.

The project was managed in an unusual way too, with the Porter Novelli team facilitating a public blog of the whole design process. This engaged Porter Novelli’s people across the world, gave everyone access to work in progress, and helped the design team get the answers they needed from the business.

"Blogging the site’s progress was a bold and smart move" said Mark Wilson, director of Wilson Fletcher. "It allowed everyone to see how the project was progressing and to have their say along the way, but I think it made a much more significant statement about Porter Novelli’s digital approach. The new site is intended to be open, connected and confident and blogging the whole thing certainly demonstrated all of those."

The site pushed our development team hard, making the site flexible and dynamic, but easy for the Porter Novelli team to administer.

Porter Novelli comments:

"Drupal was an easy choice for us, but we were aware that it is more renowned for its flexibility than its beauty. Wilson Fletcher did an outstanding job in bending Drupal to their and our wills for both the site user and those of us contributing to it. It’s a pleasure for us to use, and the site experience is elegant and enjoyable for those that is is aimed at.”

“Our aim with the new site was to bring ourselves bang up-to-date, but not forget who our clients are. The design is classy and has plenty of stature, but it has its quirky side and starts to bring our people and achievements to the fore much more. We have a great team, have undertaken some extraordinary projects, and we’re keen to show more of them to the world.”

The first release of the site is live today, with a series of further developments planned for the new year and throughout 2009.
